United States Senators: They're Just Like Us!

I was recently trolling around the internet and stumbled upon a collection of caricatures of US Senators created by Bay Area artist and graphic designer Stephen G. Earlier this year, Stephen challenged himself to draw each of the current 100 senators and he's about halfway through the project. 

He masterfully captures the essence of the lumpy old rich dudes who run the show in America. Here are some of my favorites:

FUN FACT: I spent the summer of 2006 putting together opposition research books for Democratic congressional candidates. One of my jobs was researching the entire background of Senator Daniel Akaka (D-HI) to identify scandals or bad votes that might come up in his reelection campaign. I've read every newspaper article about this guy going back to the mid-seventies. A lot of people don't know much about Daniel Akaka. If you have any questions, drop me a line.

A PowerPoint Presentation About Donkeys

I recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 2008. In this latest edition, there is a much larger selection of realistic-looking clip art and graphic design elements. It was a slow day at work, so I used some of the new features to make a PowerPoint presentation about donkeys:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Feel free to copy any of these slides for your own presentations. All you need to do is replace the pictures of the donkeys with whatever it is people talk about at your office. Or even better, keep the pictures of the donkeys, and at the end of the presentation, tell the audience that the donkeys are a metaphor. You might get a promotion.
