Poem, free verse, 2007
College Avenue, Oakland
The 76-Ball,
Luminous red orb with blue digits,
Turns against the dusky sky.
Our darkening world by degrees
Pierced by its lush colors
Emanating from warm neon bulbs
And phosphorescence,
The avenue suddenly recast in spectral beauty
At 6:25 post meridian,
Midway between school and home.
Kevin G demonstrates how this blog can be so much more than just doodles and jokes. One evening two years ago, while riding the bus home from Berkeley, Kevin pulled out a pen and put this poem to paper.
To reinforce Kevin's words, I stole a photo from the internet and messed with the colors. This is just like Harper's magazine.
